We are Moraine’s home for fitness! The Payne Rec Center has everything you need to begin or continue in your fitness journey. Our facility offers a weight room, cardio room, cardio theater, walking/running track, and our aerobics room where we offer free aerobic classes throughout the week for PRC members.


Fitness Calendar
 

CARDIO CLASSES
Rio – SILVER SNEAKERS
Full-body workouts designed to improve strength and increase the overall mobility of participants. This includes some light and easy-to-follow strength and endurance training. Hand-held weights, bands, and other light equipment will be used.
Shelly – Zumba Fusion
An energizing mix of Zumba, cardio dance, strength, and balance training. This class moves between high and low intensity dance moves designed to get your heart rate up and boost cardio endurance.
Travis – Tabata
This high-intensity class combines cardio, core, strength training with intervals of anaerobic exercise and recovery periods that will leave you feeling accomplished when completed. Tabata focuses on exerting maximum effort for a minimal amount of time.
Michelle D. – Zumba
A total body workout that feels more like a celebration. This class is a mix of movements from Latin dances and music that will get your heart pumping and calories burning!
Travis – HIIT
This class alternates between intense bursts of activity and fixed periods of less intense activity or rest. Get fit with HIIT!
Rio - Cycle/TRX
The cycling component involves using spinning bikes. Participants pedal through a series of intervals, varying resistance levels, and speeds. This cardiovascular exercise helps improve endurance, burn calories, and strengthen the lower body muscles, including the quadriceps, hamstrings, and calves. TRX utilizes suspension straps anchored to a fixed point. Participants use their own body weight as resistance to perform a variety of exercises targeting multiple muscle groups. TRX exercises enhance strength, stability, and flexibility.
Rio - Active Older Adults Cycle/TRX
The cycling component of the class focuses on low-impact exercises to protect joints while still providing cardiovascular benefits. Participants pedal at a comfortable pace, and the instructor may incorporate seated cycling to reduce stress on the knees and lower back. TRX exercises are adapted to suit the abilities of older adults. The suspension straps are used for gentle strength training, targeting key muscle groups such as the legs, arms, and core. The emphasis is on functional movements that enhance everyday activities and improve overall mobility.
Rio - Low Impact Cycle 
This class is designed to provide a cardiovascular workout without placing excessive stress on the joints. This type of class is suitable for individuals who may have joint issues, are recovering from injuries, or simply prefer a gentler form of exercise.

MIND/BODY/FLEXIBILTY
Michelle D. – Pilates
This class incorporates the body/mind connection helping focus on muscles and their use. Movements will emphasis alignment of body, breathing techniques, and developing a strong core.
Rio - Restorative Movement 
This class is for all levels. Exercises can be done while standing, seated, or on the ground. The goal is to work with participants at a level and position their body is comfortable and safe with. Strength, Balance, and Coordination is emphasized. Weights, balls, and bands are used in a variety of different processes to help each participant improve over all health.  

STRENGTH
Michelle M. – Tone & Sculpt
This class focuses on the weak points of the body to help strengthen the neck, back and spine, and knees. Functional movements will help correct your posture and stabilization of your entire body.
Michelle M. – Boot Camp
A full body, high energy workout that will build your strength and endurance by combining cardio/strength exercise, with interval training. This class is adaptable for all fitness levels.
Rio - Hip & Knee Strength & Stretch 
This class puts focus and emphasis on the knees and hips.  Exercises for the knees and hips are used to strength the muscles with weights, bands, body weight, and some Pilate movements. Exercises are performed standing and lying on the ground. (dependent upon the participants ability). Class ends with specific stretches for the hips and knees. The goal is to not only stretch the joints safely, but also to increase flexibility of these joints.  It’s a greet class for those suffering with joint pain in these areas due to  arthritis, pre and post knee and hip replacements, and general flexibility improvements to counteract the aging process.

Rio - Abs Express
This class is a 30 minute over all focus on core and oblique muscles.  Exercises are performed standing, seated, or lying down.  (Dependent upon participants ability) Weight, balls, bands, and body weight is used.  A strong core is the key to building balance no matter our age!
